Garden Design Booking for 2025

We design spaces that are not just pretty, but are livable.. Especially, as we find ourselves sending more time at home, we aim to design spaces that are both enticing and practical. We think of landscapes as an extension of the home and so should reflect the interior design style as well. It is not unusual for our clients to report that they now spend a much greater portion of their time outdoors and in the "rooms" that we have created for them
Our Design Process During our initial on site meeting, we will walk your property. I will ask you to tell me about your ideas, visions, and preferences. We want to understand your lifestyle and aesthetic. We will assess the land and cultural features of the property to be sure that the designs we create are not only beautiful and sustainable, but regenerative where possible. I will photograph key areas and take notes. I may also take some rough measurements. We may make some initial suggestions regarding potential placements of walkways, patios, retaining walls, etc., and, of course, gardens! I may toss a few ideas at you, but my job here is to listen to you. It is imperative that all decision makers be at this meeting and I will be flexible with timing to allow for this to happen. Once I hear what you are looking for, I will discuss my design fee. When agreed upon, the design process begins. Hardscape First I prefer to start with designing the hard elements first. This might include patios, walkways, outdoor kitchens, pools, fire pits, etc. This gives me the basis around which we will design your garden spaces. Once the layout is to your liking, we will choose the materials with which they will be built and choose garden spaces. Then Plants The choices in plant materials may seem daunting, but once we understand the site conditions and maintenance requirements, we can put together a proposed plant pallet. Here you may want to include a favorite plant or color to include in the design. I will take these choices and place them into the designed garden spaces. Again, it is essential that everyone be at this meeting also. We’ll take all the time you need to answer any questions. Final Touches Once you have approved the preliminary design, we can talk about finishing elements that complete the plan. This may include sculpture, fountains, container placement, lighting, furnishings, and decor. Completed Design Your completed design will be delivered to you in full color and scale, complete with a materials list and plant list. If you'd like, we can also talk about installation and project management. |

Barbara and Ben did an amazing job on our landscape project. It was a blank slate and in rough shape. We needed a lawn, walkways, patio, fire-pit area, irrigation and lighting. Barbara's design is catalog worthy and with Ben managing our property, it is perfect.” J.D., Pocasset, MA
